Students obtaining an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems are required to take a minimum of five general / liberal studies courses. Of these five, two must be in the same subject area (e.g., ECON 201 and ECON 202 or SOC 101 and SOC 225). The School offers two general studies courses: BMES 340 – Health Care Administration and BMES 409 – Entrepreneurship for Biomedical Engineers, both of which are highly recommended.
