About DreamIt Ventures
DreamIt Ventures founders believe that great companies can be launched quickly and inexpensively. They have seen that some very talented people with great ideas struggle to pull the pieces together and get over the startup hump. With the help and support of entrepreneurs, technologists, prominent law and accounting firms, angel investor groups and venture capital firms, DreamIt Ventures was born. The goal at DreamIt is to help great people with great ideas build great companies. In some cases Innovators may have great technical knowledge but might like to work with someone with great business skills.
Steven Welch is the Co-Founder at DreamIt Ventures. Steven Welch earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Penn State University and founded Mitos Technologies, Inc. in 2001. At Mitos, he engineered and patented the Mitos FREE FLOW® valve—the premier valve for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Under Steven's guidance Mitos developed six marketable patents all directed at improving biotech companies efficiency in manufacturing. The company developed a worldwide sales channel to promote and sell these products. In July 2007 (at the age of 29), he sold the Mitos group of companies that he had started building 6 years earlier to Parker Hannifin (NYSE: PH)—an S&P 500 company. Steven has been an active Angel investor with Robin Hood Ventures. In 2008, Steve was selected as a member of the Philadelphia Business Journal's 40 Under 40 and Entrepreneur of the Year. Last year, his accomplishments in innovation and entrepreneurship were recognized by the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship Award aimed to build bridges internationally in early stage startup communities.
Matheson Hall is located at 32nd and Market Streets.
