Biosketch:
Dr. Zhang has extensive experience in healthcare industry ranging from academic research, industrial research, development and engineering to healthcare industry management. These unique experiences make him an expert with many insights and broad perspectives on healthcare industry in China.

Dr. Zhang joined Kodak Health Group as the R&D Director in 2003. He is the founder of the Signal Processing Framework for Studying Functional Brain Networks Global R&D Center for Kodak Health Group in China. He single-handedly grew the center to a headcount of 300 researchers. Currently, the Shanghai R&D Center is positioned as a Center of Excellence meaning that this site will be one of the two R&D pillars of the company. (The second center is located in Rochester where Kodak is headquartered).

Dr. Zhang started his academic career in 1989, as a lecturer of Mechanical Engineering, in Xianyang Mechanical Manufacturing School, Xianyang, China. Later he served as an Associate Professor of Computer Application Technology in Northeastern University, Shenyang, China. Meanwhile, he joined NEUSoft Medical System Co. Ltd., a spin off of Northeastern University. From an engineering position he rapidly rose to become Chief Engineer and CTO of the company where he led over 150 engineers in new product development including CT Scanner, MRI, DR, Ultrasound, PACS, RIS, etc. From 2002 to 2003, Dr. Zhang was a professor and director of the Computer Application Technology Lab in Xi’an Optic&Mech Institute, Xi’an, China.

Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1998 and his M.S degree and B.S degree from Northwestern Polytechnic University, Xi’an, China in 1995 and 1989 respectively. Dr. Zhang is also a graduate of the Leadership Program offered by the University of Sothern California, Los Angeles, US, and the Advanced Management Program of Harvard University, Boston, US.
