Every biomedical engineering student is expected to take the required courses as outlined below, plus an additional 18 credits of biomedical elective courses offered by the School. Full time students are urged to register according to the chronological template below, so that the required courses (offered sequentially) are taken as soon as possible. The four unspecified slots are designated for BMES courses, which the student may choose from the courses offered in a given term. Students should select three classes designed to introduce themselves to the breadth of opportunities available at the School.

The Post Baccalaureate Ph.D. students must take the same required courses as the Master's students, but must accrue a total of 90 credits. Post Master's Ph.D. students have to take a minimum of 45 credits and are advised to take the above required courses to prepare for the Ph.D. qualifying exams. All students are required to complete a plan of study before the end of their second term at Drexel University. This plan should be coordinated and approved by the student's thesis advisor and the School's graduate advisor.
