The BIOMED faculty and students have launched biomedical technology start-ups at an unprecedented pace to commercialize technologies under development in our School's laboratories. The list includes:

BioSensus	Development of a hand-held nanoacoustic blood analyzer to monitor blood coagulation, clotting times, and platelet function.
Infrascan	Development of a hand-held optical brain imager for on-site detection of brain hematoma.
Magnetic BioSystems	Development of a magnetic stent for concentrated therapeutic drug delivery for coronary patients.
NIRSCan	Development of a hand-held optical scanner for early detection of breast cancer, intended as a personal health care device.
PiRho Software	Development of software that allows patients in ambulances to be monitored remotely from a hospital emergency room.
