The BioNanoTechnology research at the School of Biomedical Engineering,
Science, and Health Systems at Drexel University (Drexel BIOMED)
is focused on bioinformatics, biosensing, bioimaging, tissue engineering, drug delivery, and neuroengineering, which are the main research thrusts of the school.
The Drexel BIOMED BioNanoTechnology initiative is led by Dr. Kambiz Pourrezaei, Professor of
Biomedical and Electrical Engineering, who is a founding member and co-director of the Nanotechnology Institute (NTI). NTI's other co-founders include Dr. David E. Luzzi, Professor in Materials Science & Engineering, University of Pennsylvania and Dr. Barry F. Stein, Executive Vice Preseident, Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
The Drexel BIOMED BioNanoTechnology initiative researchers include Dr. Kenneth Barbee, Dr. Chang Chang,
Dr. Ryzard Lec, Dr. Peter Lelkes, Dr. Elisabeth Papazoglou and Dr. Margaret Wheatley.
