MISSION 

The aim of this project is to develop a model graduate program in Biomedical Ultrasound and Biomedical Optics, to educate the 'new generation' Biomedical Engineering professionals profiled below...
  • S/he is equipped with contemporary basic and applied engineering knowledge and competencies.
  • S/he is educated and conversant in the fundamentals and the applications of the target medical and biological field.
  • Her/his perspective surpasses that of her/his teachers trained either as engineers or medical scientists for s/he synthesizes their disciplinary strengths and embodies an interdisciplinary outlook richer and broader than the sum of her/his courses.
  • The breadth of her/his education helps her/him remain responsive to professional trends and adapt to evolving demands of the biomedical industry and the healthcare enterprise.
  • S/he also possesses the focused view and the depth necessary for success in the research and academic world.
  • S/he is skilled in information discovery and exhibits cognitive flexibility.
  • S/he is a life-long learner, a doer, a problem solver, a risk taker and an agent for change, a leader and a team player, and a creative, multi-faceted and versatile individual.
